It is with great excitement that we announce the first public screening of Wednesday Morning Production's (WMP) first film :"Waking Up: A Story in Four Parts", A story about opiate addicted people in recovery. WMP co-produced this film with The North Charles Institute for the Addictions (NCIA), and 2PM Productions. All proceeds from this screening will be donated to NCIA, an outpatiend substance abuse treatment program.
The first screening took place at the Brattle Theatre on Wednesday, May 9, 2007
"Waking Up" is an intimate portrait of four recovering heroin and opiate users. Kevin, Maria, "Lisa" and "JT" take us along as they sink into the depths of addiction then back into the light of day through recovery and methadone treatment. Shot and produced in the Boston area, this groundbreaking film documents four journeys that will inspire all of us – regardless of our struggles.
